Richard,

You don't mention your tape management system. If you are using CA 1 Flexible 
Storage, there is a batch utility called TMSOSCAT that can list all the files 
still on the MVS/Catalog (as a tape data set) but not in the TMC anymore 
(regardless of the volsers). You can then easily edit the output report into 
the DELETE NONVSAM statements to clean up the old catalog entries.

I have a bunch of old tape datasets that are still cataloged, but the tapes 
don't exist anymore.
Looking for something to help in identifying all and create JCL to uncataloged 
them.
