> On the z/OS 3.1 volumes (DLIB and RES), when I select a dataset from the 3.4 > dslist of the entire 3.1 dlib volume (in my sample the dataset is > AOP.AAOPEXEC but it happens for every dataset on the volume), I get the > dataset allocation shown in bytes
> If I go to a z/OS 2.5 dlib volume and display that dataset it shows in tracks: My guess is you installed z/OS 3.1 via ServerPac using z/OSMF, but 2.5 using the former ISPF-based CustomPac installation dialog. z/OSMF uses the GIMUNZIP utility to directly allocate the target system data sets, and GIMUNZIP allocates data sets in bytes. Here's an existing requirement to use tracks or cylinders instead of bytes you can view and vote on: https://ibm-z-hardware-and-operating-systems.ideas.ibm.com/ideas/ZOS-I-2804 Kurt Quackenbush IBM | z/OS SMP/E and z/OSMF Software Management | [email protected] Chuck Norris never uses CHECK when he applies PTFs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
