The link above confirms the z/OS 3.1 is supported on z14.
However it is not statement of direction saying z14 won't be supported
for z/OS 3.2 or whatever next version.
My $0.02:
1. Such information usually is not a part of documentation, especially
it should document *current* z/OS release, not the future. It is rather
"statement of direction", with disclaimers, etc.
2. IBM is rather reluctant to provide such declarations. The exception
is long planned change to remove some long-living feature. It can be
JES3, BDT, OSA UTP, etc.
3. I bet the z14 will not be supported by next z/OS. Reason: IBM tend to
short compatibility windows. For two reasons: a) cost reduction, b)
fighting the competition - which is second hand market.
