>From what I remember, there are different ports for the HMC and the SE.
It's all documented in the red books, and probably in the installation
documentation.

Subject: z16 HMC LAN connections

Good news: I'll be installing new z16 machines. :-)

There is no longer physical HMC!
Physically we have two x86 "pizza box" machines inside CPC cabinet, one
is primary SE, the second is Secondary SE. And HMC as an virtual
machine. To be precise HMC is an application working on machine's OS,
while SE runs in guest machine.
What about LAN ports?

Q1. Connectivity between SE and HMC. Is it physical connection or some
emulated internal LAN, more or less like Hipersockets?
Q2. How to know what physical LAN port belongs to SE or HMC?
Q3. How to connect SEs from two machines to create single logical
network (both CPCs can be managed from single HMC)?

I know how the things look like in case of old physical HMC, but virtual
HMC changes physical connectivity.

Any clue? Presentation?
(yes, I have documentation)
