Robert, Sorry, I should have mentioned that the volumes are SMS managed. Thanks.

If so, datasets will migrate according to their MGMTCLAS attributes. Catalogs should not be eligible for migration. If non-SMS, and not allocated to the CATALOG address space (which is also true for SMS-managed), then they probably would migrate. Most catalogs are allocated all the time. -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of John Dawes Sent: Friday, June 07, 2013 6:41 AM To: [email protected] Subject: DFHSM QUESTION - MIGRATE VOLUMES G'Day, I would like to migrate 23 volumes (to ML2) because of space issues. However I noticed that there are several USER.catalogs on these disks. Would HSM migrate the USERCATS as well (which I don't want). Here is the command I plan to use to migrate the volumes: HSEND MIGRATE VOLUME(PROM15 MIGRATE(0)) Thanks in advance ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
