AI may be an issue, but the problem predates it. I think its largely a
result of electronic documentation. If you're not committing it to
paper, it's easy to change later so you don't have the same motivation
to get it right. You can't see the actual size of the documentation, so
there's no motivation to edit or reduce it - it just grows unbounded.
Also, I think specialist documentation writers are often separate from
the developers, so they don't necessarily know the product well i.e.
actually use it.
