I hope I can explain this clearly. We are SYSLEX and currently operate four LPARs. I am planning to upgrade the CICS CMAS and WUI regions on LPAR B. The upgrade of the CMAS and WUI regions must be performed simultaneously. As part of this upgrade, the CSD (CICS System Definition file) will also be updated to include the necessary compatibility groups.
Additionally, the LPA, LNK, and APF libraries will be updated to reference the new CICS release 6.2. Each CICS region on LPAR B will be configured to use the new SEYUAUTH, SEYULOAD, and CSD datasets associated with release 6.2. This configuration has already been tested and is functional on a single LPAR, where the CMAS and WUI are running on CICS 6.2, while the connected CICS regions remain at release 5.5. My question is: for the CICS regions on the other LPARs (still at 5.5) that are connected to the CMAS running on 6.2 on LPAR B-do these CICS regions also need to be updated in any way? Specifically: * Do their associated libraries (SEYUAUTH, SEYULOAD) need to be updated? * Can the upgraded CSD (with compatibility groups) be shared across both versions? I would appreciate any guidance on compatibility requirements between CMAS 6.2 and CICS regions at 5.5 across LPARs. Any information would be appreciated.
