x3270 was my choice for use with Linux. The Linux version seems to have some
advantage over the Windows versions. There are multiple versions; one I do not
like is c3270. I might be the guilty party when I wrote the initial zPDT
documentation and mentioned x3270 many times. This seems to have prompted more
use of x3270.
Other notes: I typically use ispf split screen (with only two screens split)
and this works well. (More "splits" might work, but I have not used them!) The
keys can be reassigned rather easily. (The most common reassignment is "where
is the 3270 Enter key".) I strongly suggest downloading x3270 from the same
source that supplied your Linux distributions. There are multiple x3270 rpm's
out there and there can be slight differences! Large screens are easy; I
normally use 50x133 for ispf, etc.
For Windows, my choice was Tom Brennans's package because I was too lazy to
work with x3270 under Windows.
