What's a non-text character in IBM-1047?  Anything below x'40'?

Long ago, Linkage Editor put nulls in SYSPRINT, as if it had preset the
buffer with XC then populated it sporadically.  Worked fine on 3211; not
so good on ssh terminal.  IBM fixed promptly with APAR.
