You say "IBM ServerPac .tar file" but to be clear the IBM ServerPac does not produce .tar format files, so perhaps your terminology is askew. Having said that, if you downloaded a z/OSMF Portable Software Instance ServerPac, it would consist of many .pax archive files. However, you do NOT need to manually upload those files from your workstation to your z/OS. z/OSMF does that for you.
