Do you not think Gary's message answered that? "did nothing to help growth". IBM already tried. Went to a lot of effort. For whatever reason, "the public" are the idiots, not them. So they're between a rock and a hard place. It could be "the nature of the beast" that the solution needs to come from either the government or hobbyists or something like that. IBM sure as hell can't openly state "the fundamental problem is that the public are idiots". But I have no problem starting with that openly-stated premise. (And I have no problem having that premise dismissed as inaccurate given superior information - if it exists) BFN.
