Hi Lizette,

What STARTED profile is being used to assign the Started Task an ID? Is
TRACE(YES) set in this profile's STDATA segment and are you seeing IRR812I
messages as a result? If the assigned ID is unique, is it feasible to add
UAUDIT to the ID to see everything it is accessing? This might identify
programs the Started Task is executing or other resources it is using which
could pinpoint its origin and purpose.

I believe if the task was created by a supervisor-state program using the ASCRE
macro there'll be no START command, and ASCRE need not specify a PROC.

What is the name of the Started Task? Have you Googled its name to see if it
associated with a particular software product?

Regards, Bob

Subject: Looking for how an STC is started

I have a $hasp100 showing my STC came in via stcintrd. However it does not
tell me who started it

 No message - submitted via
No S stcname
No automation code to start it
No scheduler activity for the stcname

Any suggestions on how to determine how it enter the system?

Lizette
