I have been retired for three years but I recall having no major issue
working with Dell/EMC. The company I worked at used Dell/EMC DASD for many
years. Again, I’ve been away from the mainframe for three years and
Dell/EMC support could have gone downhill.

The comment about Dell/EMC getting out of the mainframe market got me to do
some online searches and I find a mixed bag of information. From what I can
tell Dell/EMC was currently not going to support the IBM Fibre Channel
Endpoint Security (IFCES) feature. I could see how that might affect future
connectivity of the Dell/EMC hardware to future IBM Z boxes.

Yep, we have been told the same thing by our Dell mainframe DASD team.
