(Motivated by a recent thread in ASSEMBLER-LIST)I f I have: // SET DLM=ROMEO ... //SYSIN DD *,SYMBOLS=JCLONLY,DLM=ROMEO TROILUS and CRESSIDA &DLM. and JULIET ANTONY and CLEOPATRA ROMEO ... Does the process recognize the delimiter after substitution or only before? Does the JCL Ref. make this clear, perhaps in "Determining equivalent JCL"? (I'll submit a Feedback on <https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zos/3.2.0?topic=dp-syntax-6>, a "Syntax" specification which doesn't specify syntax.)
1. IMHO It takes less time to check it than to write the message to IBM-MAIN :-). And it is not something was tested by anyone here (I'm pretty sure). 2. It takes much less time to use another delimiter and circumvent possible trap.
