Oops.  The ISTR line should have come first, with the "If I'd"
line as an aside.  I put it elsewhere in my draft reply then
moved it without being careful enough.  Which is ironic as ...

The point I was trying to make is that it's easier to understand
code if variables which contain eg dataids, ddnames, filenames 
are all given appropriate & accurate names.

If they're related the naming of every related item should use
the same naming convention/form/structure.

You'll probably say "but it was just demo/test code".  All the
more necessary (if you'll refer to it in future) that you do it
right in the first place.
