I clearly remember routine 30% "educational allowance" discounts in the
mid '70s (reduced to 10% around the time of the unbundling that Lynn
mentions).  I worked for a secondary school system, and IBM didn't seem
to care that we did mostly administrative work on those boxes.

80% though?  That's very pretty, but before my time!
