Seymour:

Buggy is right we had a nagging issue with it (when it was still an FDP) (it had a nasty habit of inserting sequence numbers where it shouldn't have). I tried to debug it but got called away for higher priority system down issue and it was shifted to the bottom of the pile and after 6 or 7 weeks I gave up on it. IBM refused to talk about it as it was a FDP although it did come with source and the FICHE never seem to be updated as I was looking at the utilities from time to time. I wish I had known aboout the FSE utilities product as we would have bought it in a second.

I was asked why I would use such an old thing.

The problem isn't that COPY is old; the problem is that it is buggy
and unsupported[1]. The shops that I know about dropped it in favor of
the ASI Superset Utilities, which were better and more reliable. Dor a
simple copy the Session Manager is probably faster than the old COPY.

[1] Not that the support was any good back in the day.

We don't care. We don't have to care, we're Congress.
