You need to check with Dovetail Technologies. IIRC with one of the newer versions, V8?, there was an implication that "expired" after 2 years. I took that to mean that if I had V8.0.0 it would run of 2 years, before the 2 years was up you would have to go go V8.1.0 or what ever was current. I never validated this.
One thing is that starting with V8, the community version is release after the Enterprise version, months after. So if you stay current with z/OS, you may need to get Enterprise license.
