Hello:

We want to migrate our HFS sysplex root to zFS and we have some questions.
We'll follow the next steps:

1 .- Remount the sysplex root in READ only
2 .- Backup of HFS sysplex root.
3 .- Submit JCL ISPBTCH (BPXWH2Z utility in batch) for migrate HFS sysplex root
to zFS sysplex root.
4 .- If ISPBTCH ended OK, review the filesystems with D OMVS,F. The sysplex
root would be mount like zFS in path /.

These are our questions:
1 .- Are these steps OK?
2 .- Is it necessary execute in step 4 a pax -wr -pe -XCM ./ /newroot command
to populate the new filesystem?
3 .- Does ISPBTCH execute this populate function?
4 .- If the question two is YES, we must execute a F
OMVS,NEWROOT=new.root.file.system.name,COND=<Yes|No> command for update the new
root CWD. After, if we want to return to the original root CWD / from /newroot,
we must allocate a new zFS root, execute a pax -wr -pe -XCM ./newroot / and
finally F OMVS,NEWROOT=new.zFS.root,COND=<Yes|No>.
5 .-. Remount the sysplex root in RDWR
