Hello Good People..

I am working on a system, where the TS7740 VTS is shared by two systems(2
LPARS, with no dasd or VTS drives shared, with different Virtual tape ranges ).
As both systems using the same VTS, the person who did the installation decided
to keep the TAPESGRP names same on both systems, though different virtual tape
ranges. Keeping the way less to manage work at back-end, with monitoring only
one pool.
Now, I have back-end tapes with mixed data on the complete back-end range, from
these two systems.

How am I planning to split ?
1. Create new TAPESGRP, for both systems, with different name & assign
different pools.
2. Keep the existing one in read only mode, and then route the new incoming
data to new SGRP.
3. Check which system have smaller amount of data to the other system, and
route it to different, and let the bigger one continue with the same SGRP. It
will be almost half work.

If any one have done it other way around, or have better idea, Please let me
know, I am all ears.

Regards
Munish Sharma
