Thanks Russ,
That doesn't quite do what I'm looking for. It appears to call IRXEXCOM
to dump out REXX variables to a stem. I'm replacing REXX with a
different language so I want to do something similar for ISPF function
pool variables.

If you google for RXVARS you will find a great little utility that will help
you out. Also, here is a link to a discussion on google groups about RXVARS.

Subject: Accessing ISPF funtion pool variables from a program
Is there any way to list the variables in the ISPF function pool, either
by chasing control blocks or a hook? I can't find any published method
but maybe there's a hack.
I've ported a scripting language to z/OS and I want to seamlessly
set/get variables on a ISPEXEC function call without having to do
vdefine/vcopy/vreplace service calls.
The requirement is to be able to get an ISPF option 7.2 variable list
from a program.
