A smart boss will order you to take a sleep break. Indeed. In a mature Data Centre, such overtime may or may not be frowned on, but you know there are exceptions and of course changes needed to be done after hours. Shmuel, what you said has been confirmed by an IBM-MAIN member who said that he is posting while really needing sleep and working too many after hours. He eventually said that he has gone to sleep. And he is OLD and his health is not of the very best. I'm grateful that I can claim overtime, but that must be pre-approved with formal change procedures - Excessive overtime is frowned on because of high error and fatigue rate. In fact - the laws of work conditions have improved over the years. I don't have any confirmed proof, but apparently the Japanese people are FORCED to have leave to take a break every year. True? False? I am sure many of the IBM-MAIN members can relate to loooooooooong zzzzzz work zzzzzz hours... ;-) But if your health is suffering, you need to look at your work conditions.
