Interesting. Over 25 years late to the party (this support was introduced 
in the 80's).

It doesn't seem right to blame the macro for correctly implementing its 
long-existing rule that requires your plist to be long enough to hold the 
ALETs in this sort of case (which apparently you did not do).

If avoiding the ARs in the back part of the parameter area is a function 
you would like in CALL, a submitted requirement would help to make it a 
reality. Note that ATTACHX, LINKX, and XCTLX follow the same protocol so 
would also provide such support.
