Wow two John Mcs, anyway, I liked Rexx for JCL type functions being a VMer 
before I crossed over to the 'dark side' of the force, sorry, only kidding. I 
have used SETs and IF conditions in the building of our product libraries 
successfully. Reading through this thread I was trying to understand why you 
would need a IF/THEN prior to a EXEC PGM..
