I've been having fun with this. Build an entire CPU, assembler, vm, operating system, etc from nothing but a Nand gate. I've gotten as far as building all the basic gates plus an ALU, all in a simplified HDL. CPU, RAM all that to follow.

Boolean algebra is usually discussed using the binary operations disjunction (inclusive-or) and conjunction and the singulary operation negation. It is, however, possible to shown that one binary operation, either NOR or NAND suffices. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@listserv.ua.edu with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
