Since ancient times we have associated our in-house VIO esoteric ('VIODA'
for some reason) with a group of arbitrary devices. For decades SMS has
actually managed VIO requests. The defined devices were physically removed
a while back, but we only just now removed them from IODF. Now HCD warns
that VIODA has no devices associated with it.
Since SMS handles VIO requests anyway, does this warning matter at all? As
I see it, if SMS gets to the ballpark first, he handles VIODA and all
moves along smoothly. But if some primitive relic of allocation arrives
first, he may signal a JCL error while SMS is still in line at the hot dog
stand. Do we need to worry?
