Peter,

If you are just interested in knowing the limit of each GDG base then you 
can use the smart DFSORT trick "Report on GDG base limits" listed here 

http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=isg3T7000094

It is quite easy to alter the  job to list the create/alter date and 
scratch/noscratch info on to the report. Let me know if you are interested 
and I can show you a way to get the desired info.
