I am not sure what you mean by no room to add spool volumes. Does that mean you have no additional spare volumes you could clip and add to JES2? Does that mean you do not have enough BERTS, or other JES2 elements?
If you have a tape drive and tape I would just offload the offending printout, any that will free up your spool, until you can resolve the issue. Questions: 1) Do you have any output classes that your normal purge on a schedule? If so, maybe you can purge them early. 2) Do you have the ability to offload any of the JES2 PRINT spool to free it up? You can always reload it later. 3) What is your limit for HASP050? 80%, 90%, how fast is that climbing to 100% 4) What output can be purged until you can IPL. The IPL will allow the BPXAS to be purged. If the output you see on JES2 is part of an active task, you cannot purge it until you IPL or SPIN it. If JES2 hits 100% you will only be able to purge output, so do not log off, do not let it get to 100% Lizette > -----Original Message----- > From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On > Behalf Of Crabtree, Anne D > Sent: Saturday, March 15, 2014 9:25 AM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: JES2 shortage caused by BPXAS - HELP! > > I do not have room to add another spool pack unfortunately. > > BPXAS showing as EXECUTION for this job. > > Even if I IPL how will that help?
