is member a var?
"ALLOC FI(MYDDNAM) DA('MY.PDS.NAME(MEMBER)') SHR "
Or
"ALLOC FI(MYDDNAM) DA('MY.PDS.NAME("member")' ) SHR"
If you are using ISPF to edit the REXX turn on HILITE to REXX and have I
color the code for you.
