I assume you are more of an SMP/E user. If so, take a look at HGIN140. Get that installed and things should make a little more sense. Believe the latest version is 1.7.2 (PI13302/UI15835).

I am stuck at the installation of the Installation Manager. My adventure goes like this so far.... I ordered the code from Shopz, downloaded, received and applied it. Then going by instructions in REDP-4987-00, section 3.1.1 tells me of 'a requirement to use Installation Manager to create the runtime executable code.' The first link is a techdoc that will supposedly help me with this. The first step in that techdoc that does anything other than RACF commands references issuing a command in /usr/lpp/InstallationManager/V1R5/tools/zCreateFilesystem.sh. But I don't *have* InstallationManager yet! So going down further, there's this link: 'You can find additional information about obtaining IBM Installation Manager at this Websphere Application Server V8.5 Information Center link.' That link is a page entitled: 'Obtaining an Installation Manager installation kit for installing IBM HTTP Server for z/OS' which refers me to 'IBM Installation Manager Version 1.5 Information Center' This contains a download called: agent.installer.zos.motif.s390 which is a zip file. Obviously a zip file doesn't work on z/OS, is the intent to extract all the files and subfolders, and transfer them all to a zFS directory and run the install command from that? The instuctions say: Open a command prompt to the directory where you extracted the compressed file. Run the command: Linux, UNIX, IBM i, and z/OS: ./installc -acceptLicense Does anyone know where I went wrong here?
