Our Corporate standard is Firefox. Chrome is allowed for those who want to "experiment," but we're explicitly not allowed to use IE for anything (other than indirectly for Windows Update).
System Messages works great in Firefox and Chrome. Make sure your Java is up to date. I remember having an issue when it was back-level.
