EREP is one of my "go to" tools - always has been. Only recently I've seen it log 1300 abends in DB2 in less than 3 seconds. Funny how it's always DB2 ... I was more than a little surprised when talking to some of the system design/test people at Share in Boston to be disavowed of my notion that an abend always cuts an EREP entry. I have in the past used EREP to keep an eye on CICS developers who decide to inhibit dumps, and have always assumed I had a good tool for such. I would be *much* happier if I could rely on it to always have an entry for any abend. I was in the process of heading off to check the manuals, but the z/OS Internet library is currently throwing 404 errors... aggghhhh. Welcome to the brave new world of modern support (and yes, I used a link off one of IBMs own pages).
