A few questions. What level of z/OS are you running? Is the JES2 Checkpoint datasets on a volume by itself? Or are there other datasets on PRDCAT? Never place the JES2 Checkpoint on a volume with any other datasets.
Can you use the JES2 Checkpoint datasets in a structure in the CF? What was going on in the system at this time? Did you have any abends? Have you looked at RMF or other monitor (Tivoli Omegamon, Mainview, SYSVIEW are some other types of monitors)? Can you list all the datasets on PRDCAT? Just the names should be sufficient.
