Rick,

It doesn't surprise me at all that if you have AOP-TRAYID set to 1 5 1 1 1
1 1 1 1 1 that you can only ever reach two trays on your printer. After
all, you only have two trays defined (PCL tray 1 and PCL tray 5).

Take a look at my earlier note and see if it starts to give you some clues
what physical tray 4 might be in terms of a PCL tray number. The first
reasonable guess I'd make is 8, and then I'd try 20. PCL tray 5 apparently
corresponds to what you're seeing as physical tray 3. If you can ask the
printer itself -- and I think you can -- so much the better.

Worst case, even if you have absolutely no clue, it should only take an
average of about 100 guesses to figure out what the PCL tray number is for
your physical tray 4 -- and with a pretty high probability you'll hit it
right off the bat with "best guesses" 8 or 20.

Another approach is to saunter over to a PC or Mac running any operating
system you like -- Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, etc. Generate a PCL print job
using that printer model's specific PCL driver on that particular operating
system, making sure to choose physical tray 4 as the paper input source.
Print something very simple -- "Hello World" from Notepad on a Microsoft
Windows operating system, to pick one example. Direct that print job to a
file, then load up the print job file in a binary editor so you can view
the byte sequence. Search for the byte sequence I described for PCL tray
selection, though note that the last character can be uppercase or
lowercase. Then you should be able to identify the PCL tray number for
physical tray 4 on that specific printer model. Though if the answer you
get is decimal 7 that's probably the wrong answer because decimal 7 is
usually the PCL tray number for automatic input selection, so try again.

I really wish HP documented the PCL tray numbers for each and every printer
model, but apparently they don't. :-( Though usually you can ask the
printer itself through its built-in Web server user interface (on many
models) and/or via a printer-initiated configuration printout.
