Hi Alan,
not that I know of, but might be one could write a query to get the
information, in multiple steps. Why not use RXSMS by Gilbert Saint-Flour, it
would certainly deliver would you're looking for, simple REXX. I use it heavily
when it comes to "special" queries in SMS. It's 22:00 CET now, so I'm off
homeward bound but if you need some examples out off my toolbox give me a shout
tomorrow.

Betreff: ISMF usage (STGR but not in an SG) (UNCLASSIFIED)

Classification: UNCLASSIFIED
Caveats: NONE

All,

Is there a simple ISMF method to identify volumes that were initialized using
the ICKDSF STGR keyword but are not defined in a CDS?

As far as I can tell, I can display all volumes that SMS knows about (if CDS
name and/or SG-name are provided) or I can see all volumes, whether SMS knows
about them or not (if CDS name and SG-name are both blank). In the latter case,
the physical data column (22) indicates CONVERT/INITIAL if the ICKDSF STGR
keyword was used BUT that doesn't mean that the volume is actually defined to
any SG.

This is a simple matter with QuickRef option S: SMS-Ind (11) specifies YES and
Storage-Group (13) is blank, indicating a volume that has the STGR flag on but
is not defined in any SG.

Does ISMF provide a means to accomplish this too?

Thanks,
Alan
