Just for you Dave .... ;-) Didn't have a spare phone, so decided to trash an old tablet I had laying around. Wasn't getting any updates from ASUS and no use either, so I junked ASUS and installed a custom ROM - eventually. Not something you'd do on spec - kept me up for 2 nights late enough to see the end of the Tour (02:00 here). Anyway, the Share app is from a third party, and has lots of options the kids would like - facebook, instagram, twit, ... all the things that would require access to location, camera, whatever. With the modded ROM I have the option to selectively turn off permissions - so I turned them all off (except calendar updates) and it seemed to keep working ok, but obviously only in a testing mode. Of course they also have a (non) privacy policy included you can read at your leisure - but at least it's in the product, not hidden away somewhere. Fairly standard. Shane ... (and don't anybody bother telling me it can't be a ROM if I updated it). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For IBM-MAIN subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO IBM-MAIN
