Exactly. Which lead me to (erroneously) conclude that it doesn't matter what
you specify for directory when you allocate a PDSE. I went back and checked all
my allocation JCL - those where I either omitted the directory numbers for PDSE
or had set them to zero are all broken.

Well, reading that paragraph, it says you can omit the directory space when it
is set in the data class. No data class involved here. (My SMS only has only
one defined - MULTIV).

D ALLOC,OPTIONS
SPACE PRIMARY: 4
                SECONDARY: 24
                DIRECTORY: 0

So in my opinion, this should be aparable. Realizing that I have broken data
sets on my hands when I allocated them would have saved me a lot of grief on
Saturday. But, since I run on an RDT system, I cannot even report this to IBM.
Never mind that I get

when I attempt to login to servicelink. First noticed yesterday. Has IBM had a
policy change and does not allow the old, short IBM IDs anymore?
