Your output is usable up to the very last full logical record. Every time on same place on same tape volser? If so, your tape is bad. If not you're having some hardware problem. Are you constantly having the problem or are you getting it now and then on the same volser? Are you using PPRC? If so, there could be a channel problem between your local and remote site.
