That depends on what "it" is. What did you profile? OS/2 CREXX? OS/2
OREXX? z/OS REXX? z/VM REXX? Regina?

For EXECIO profiling, were you accessing single records or multiple
records?

OOREXX on a PC might well outperform, e.g., TSO/E REXX. on z for some
tasks.

Note: one possible reason to learn lua is that the wiki folks are
using it for some of their tools.
