Dear We have a processor for SDM system. There are two base sysplexes in this box. There are two FICON channels defined for CTC in each sysplex.
Before migrating CTC from ESCON to FICON,each sysplex used two ESCON. one ESCON was defined as SENDER,the other one was defined as receiver. In this situation,if one FC fail,CTC will fail. Now could we define each FC as sender an receiver at same time for high availability? Thanks a lot! Are ESCON and FICON available on the system or is this preparation for a new system? Not sure what you mean about changing parameters. I/O configuration or PARMLIB, VTAMLST, etc.? Would make sure you fully understand how your CTCs are being used then plan the migration accordingly. Maybe some commands like the following to get you started: D U,CTC,ALLOC,devnum, nnnnn D NET,LINES/D NET,ID=name Regards, Kevin -----Original Message----- From: IBM Mainframe Discussion List [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of ibmmain Sent: Tuesday, December 02, 2014 7:01 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Migrate CTC ESCON channels to CTC FICON channels Hi all We are migrating CTC ESCON channels to CTC FICON channels. We want to use HCD Option 2.10 to build I/O configurations ,then we change some parameters to migrate CTC from ESCON to FICON. Could you share your any experience to do it ? Thanks a lot!
