I was asked to shut down our sandbox partitions in order to free up resources.
Does it matter of I deactivate the partitions?
It depends.
In terms of CPU consumption the difference is (close to) zero.
However if you want to use memory of dormant LPAR you have to deactivate
it first. Caution: Memory from deactivated LPAR is "available" to other
LPARs, but it won't be used without your intervention - you have to
assing it.
