There is such restriction, but not on z/OS side. It is restriction of
some DASD boxes, like DS8000. Note, other dasd arrays can have
anootherlimitations or chunk size.
So, z/OS 2.1 fully support any 3390 volume size up tu mod-54 (65520
cylinders AFAIK), so it can be 40010-cylinders. Now you have to check
dasd array features and choose any option supported by both.
Note, z/OS also support EAV, but it is not as seamless as mod-54.
