I think that LAPACK is the engine under the hood of popular LA commercial 
packages ... And the good thing of ATLAS is that it is automatically tuned, I 
mean, it adapts the matrix operations to the processor capabilities, like 
cache-sizes in order to subdivide the matrices onto smaller ones to proceed 
with the operations.
I understand all this stuff will give the z/OS the ability to execute convex 
optimizations, recommendation systems. etc
But when there will be GPU-like cards?
