Thanks for your reply Kevin, I found out that I need to convert the SYMLINK back to a directory to be able to mount it to my driving system to apply maintenance. I found the REXX exec in SYS1.SAMPLIB(BPKISETD) to do that for me. The missing piece in my mind was that the SYMLINK was (obviously) in the ROOT directory and once I figured that out the EXEC changed it back to a directory, I was successfully able to mount the two file systems.
To answer your question. your command returned nothing prior to the conversion and the expected information after I converted the SYMLINK to a directory.
