MTRACE is not SYSLOG, nor did it exist in SVS. It's a small virtual
storage buffer, and overflow is not streamed to a DASD data set, but
lost. Hence my question "Are you thinking of MTRACE, which is not
SYSLOG?" The Devil is in the details.
