This raises a couple of questions. 1. How early in IPL can K S,DEL=RD be issued? At some point we see message 'IEE389I MVS COMMAND PROCESSING AVAILABLE'. Is that the earliest point?
2. In HMC Operating System Messages, messages will continue to appear after IEE389I only if V CN(*),ACT is issued. I've noticed that this command can be issued at some point before IEE389I. How early in IPL can the HMC console be ACTIVATEd? . . . If you still miss them, you quickly remember to use 'K S' next time to stop scrolling. Sometimes you can see missed messages in the console on the HCD, that is if you varied it in time online of course. As part of our IPL procedures, some important settings are always listed just after JES2 come up, but before applications come up. So, if we however missed important messages, those setting shown can indicate if we had to re-IPL or just go ahead. Each to its own...
