This will depend on your z/OS Level I found two APARs that might be of interest
OA44642: IDC31379I DOES NOT LIST THE GDG WITH THE EXTENSION CELL COUNT MISMATCH DFSMS V21 users affect. MSGIDC31378I and MSGIDC31379I do not display the GDG BASE name in error, users could not determine which GDG had error, if the catalog contained more than one GDG's. OA44886: NOT ALL EXTENSION RECORDS FOR A GDG BASE ARE DELETED IF THE EXTENSION CELL COUNT IN THE BASE IS WRONG All users of z/OS 2.1.0 and higher getting message IDC31378I or IDC31379I. Code is changed to delete all extension records when DELETE GDG FORCE is issued. Do either of these help? Could you post the entire IDC31378I message?
