Is there a DFSMS macro or callable service that returns the amount of unallocated space left on a volume or SMS storage group? My first preference would be results in a binary-type control block but I could live with a TSO command that gave me "printable" data. Am I the only person who thinks it is needlessly difficult finding things in the DFSMS documentation? SHOWCAT is logically enough in "Macro Instructions for Data Sets" but LOCATE and CAMLST are in "DFSMSdfp Advanced Services." And what does this mean under SHOWCAT?
