So instead of EXEC PGM=SOMEPGM, I just change the JCL to say EXEC PGM=IEFBR14 and leave the SOMEPGM as a comment on the same JCL "card" to remember what it used to be. One favorite reason is to bypass an FTP step when the FTP server is "misbehaving" (which is normal behavior for most Windows systems in this shop).
