Maybe I'm playing in the dinosaur bone yard...

Any attempt to run TAPESCAN on a virtual tape volume results in:
IEC527I BLOCK COUNTS: DEVICE=4, DCB=9
IEC023I 237-0C, IFG0551H,..............
z/OS 2.1 TS7740

I added the Block Count Unequal exit to the DCB EXLST parm.
Basically RETURN,RC=4 continue processing.
It's not being called... DC x'0000' in the middle.

Native tape works fine.
Well - my little tiny test tape did.
When I ran one of the backup tapes...
S0C9-09 kind of expected.
Calculating the number of tape inches.
Too lazy to do the math - but just guessing -
1 3592 = 1 50 foot diameter 6520 BPI round reel.

Enjoy.
